Academic Profile

Dr. Michael Montazeri earned his MD degree at the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Southern California in June 2006, and joined the Division of Hospital Medicine faculty later that year.

Dr. Montazeri's professional interests include medical care for mentally ill patients, and social justice and public policy matters in inpatient medicine.

He is participating in quality improvement projects in thromboembolic disease prevention and standards in anticoagulation for inpatients.

Dr. Montazeri is an active member of Physicians for a National Health Program and Physicians for Human Rights.

In addition, he works on a per-diem basis at the UCSD La Jolla and Family Health Centers of San Diego outpatient clinics.
