Academic Profile
Dr. Joshua Lee joined the Division of Hospital Medicine in 2003. He is responsible for ongoing enhancements to the inpatient systems as well as the implementation of the ambulatory electronic medical record at UCSD Medical Center.
Dr. Lee's major research interests include ways to optimize online clinical documentation and to improve patient safety through online order entry.
He serves as the Chair of the Medical Records and Informatics Committee and is the Medical Director of Information Services for the Medical Center.
Dr. Lee earned his MD degree at the University of California, San Francisco, where he was elected to the AOA Honor Society. After completing his internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, he devoted an additional year as chief resident.
After completing his residency training, Dr. Lee spent four years on the faculty of the Section of General Internal Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
